I have always been the one planning it. Events, international trips, a week in New York, a weekend in Miami, the after party nobody thought to book until midnight. I did it because I wanted it done right, and it was usually easier to handle it myself than explain what I wanted to somebody else.
Most of that work is detail. Whether the seat is actually held when you walk up. Whether the boat leaves when it said it would. There are about thirty things like that in a day and nobody sees a single one of them unless something goes wrong.
I run the operating side of premium events out here, so I work with the venues, the captains and the operators every week. That is usually what people are missing when they cannot get something done. They can afford the day. They just do not know who to call.
